2005-01-14 - 2004 AVC Points Totals The 2004 American Track Racing AVC season points totals have finally been released (the last time they where updated was march or April of 2004). I only did 3 of the 11 AVC races last year and ended up ranked 18th for match sprint, 26th for Kilometer TT, a very disappointing 43rd in the keirin (I finished one place out of the finals at 2 of 3 AVC races and if your not one of the top 8 that make the finals you don't get any points), 32nd in the miss-n-out (I only did one race, so that ain't bad), 46th for the points races (which even though is a pretty poor ranking amazes me as I don't remember finishing well enough to score any points, but then again I don't remember much of anything after lap 60 or so of any AVC points race, so it's all gravy), and a dismal but unexpected 58th in the scratch. So all and all I'm fairly happy with where I ended up, especially considering that last year I was just out to have fun, make some new friends and get a feel for what competition at the AVC level was like. In 2005 I plan on continuing to have fun and make friends, but I will do more then 3 AVC races and I've been training my butt off most of this winter and plan on doing a bit better in each race. I don't think I will be to a point where I can win any one race, but I think I can perform consistently well all season long and possibly come away with a much better finish in the point this coming year.
